Start Where Your Clients Are

Time travel, alternate universe, shape shifters... What can these things teach you about marketing and sales?

Recently I started watching the show "Fringe" on Amazon Instant.

The show starts off fairly normal in the beginning episodes...

Kinds of sci fi stuff happening, very X-filesish, but it's mainly about an FBI agent solving weird stuff.

Towards the end of the first season the show gets really weird.

Now I'm in the 3rd season and the show is dealing with people crossing into alternate universes, shape shifters, time travel, a human civilization that existed before dinosaurs and other crazy stuff.

But hey... I'm into it.

I'm finding this stuff more believable then the plot lines and stuff that goes on in Real House Wives of Beverly Hills that Katherine makes me watch.

Here's the thing with the show...

If it would have started off with alternate universes, I'm not sure it would have hooked me. It would have been to "out there" for me.

But after watching a few episodes that were somewhat "normal", I start to like the characters and I'm willing to go on the ride now.

If they want to time travel, bring in some aliens, or even some superhero's I'd probably still keep watching.

This is like what you have to do with your marketing and sales...

You have to start where your clients/target market is at currently.

You have to meet them where they are.

If... you want to go deeper with this idea in your business...
